Moldovan foreign minister to pay visit to Ankara

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur had a bilateral meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on the sidelines of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) on 1 July, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
Minister Galbur reiterated the message of condolences and solidarity to the authorities and nation of Turkey on the terrorist attacks committed at the Istanbul airport.
The ministers reconfirmed mutual interest in continuously developing the cooperation ties between the two countries. The sides put special emphasis on the need to give an impetus to the commercial exchanges, under the free trade agreement between the two countries, ratified by the Moldovan parliament on 30 June 2016. This positive step will represent a new stage in the economic relations between Moldova and Turkey. Also, the officials reiterated the importance to continue the dialogue to complete the negotiations on mutual protection of investments.
Minister Galbur thanked his Turkish counterpart for the continuous assistance provided by the Turkish authorities in process of repatriating the Moldovan citizens from conflict-stricken regions of Syria.
The ministers also agreed to continue discussions on these and other subjects of mutual interest at a visit to Ankara by the head of the Moldovan diplomacy, due on 23-24 August 2016.
