Moldovan PM says partnership with civil society guides his work

Chisinau, 4 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with representatives of the civil society and development partners, on the occasion of a workshop organized within an yearly conference titled, Cooperation between Parliament and Civil Society, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Among the topics of interest, there were identifying the best and the most efficient ways of ensuring Moldova’s modernization, as well as development of a good cooperation between the public authorities, non-governmental organizations and citizens.
In the beginning of the meeting, the prime minister welcomed the NGOs’ openness to participate in these large-scale debates. Filip stressed that, only following a constructive dialogue, the best solutions to problems faced by citizens can be identified.
“The partnership is a term which guides my work, I am a man of active dialogue. I had the same approach when discussing with farmers’ associations the problems faced and solutions which may be applied. I acted the same way also when I spoke about deficiencies on the pharmaceutical market, in the dialogue with business people, in order to work out a legal framework needed for a sound business. It is important that we go in the same direction, promote the necessary reforms,” Pavel Filip stressed.
A special subject of the discussions was focused on cooperation of governmental structures with the civil society, in order to elaborate and promote draft normative acts needed to cope with current challenges in the society. “I welcome the fact when there are pressures on the government, this makes us mobile and work in a more organized way, just only these pressures must be also constructive. I hope that we will manage to create a platform of permanent communication and be sure that the entire decision-taking process is attentively monitored by the civil society. We have already the legislative framework in this respect,” the PM said.
The participants in the workshop also discussed ensuring an efficient coordination of the assistance provided by development partners and the capacity to absorb it by projects implemented both by public authorities and NGOs. In this respect, Prime Minister Pavel Filip invited the civil society’s representatives to delegate a representative due to be a member of the committee on coordinating the foreign assistance at the State Chancellery, in order to ensure transparency in the work of this entity.
On 5 July, Prime Minister Pavel Filip will attend the annual conference, Cooperation between Parliament and Civil Society.
