Moldovan deputy premier meets German Embassy's deputy head of mission

Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan today had a meeting with Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Moldova Thomas Weithoner, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions on the latest developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue platforms, sectoral working groups.
Balan and Weithoner also reviewed actions undertaken by the sides to carry out the provisions of the Protocol signed in Berlin on 3 June 2016, at an official meeting of the Permanent Conference on Political Issues in Transnistrian Conflict Settlement.
The deputy prime minister said that Moldova was willing to contribute to organizing the seventh Bavarian conference on confidence building measures, due in the second ten-day period of July.
The officials praised the high level of cooperation between Chisinau and Berlin in promoting initiatives on confidence building and programmes on social and economic development, implemented locally. At the same time, the sides referred to prospects for deepening the Moldovan-German partnership to promote new projects, meant to improve the quality of public services and restore the local infrastructure.
In particular, the German diplomat touched upon a project on developing the system of supply with water, sewerage and residual waters’ purification in the cluster Criuleni-Dubasari.
The deputy prime minister appreciated the considerable contribution of foreign partners to backing the Transnistrian settlement process.
