Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/ - The regulation on the payment of wages to employees from medical and sanitary institutions, based on a new mechanism, will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova (Monitorul Oficial) in the 12 July issue.
Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan has earlier said the document provided for the change of the notion of tariff salary into the office salary. “The distribution of payments’ increase inside the system will take place in line with the position held plus the performance. Besides this increased salary, each health care employee will benefit from payments worth at least 15 per cent of the basic salary, depending on the performance indexes. At the same time, the increase may rise by up to 100-200 per cent, depending on the financial resources identified by the head of the medical institution,” Glavan noted.
The official also said the project’s goal was to motivate young people who finished their studies to be employed in Moldova. “In this respect, the overall salary increase in the medical institutions for this year is forecast to be about 300 million lei. The highest increase will be recorded among young specialists with a length of service of up to ten years. In terms of percentage, the salaries will increase twice for 80 per cent of them. The increase will be smaller for the specialists with a length of service of more than 20 years, standing at about 20 per cent on average per system,” Minister Glavan said.
The regulation will enter into force starting from 1 July 2016.
The document was worked out by the Health Ministry, in line with the Strategy of Human Resources Development in the Health System for 2016-2025.
Statistics data shows that, while in 2003, 10,978 physicians were working in the Moldovan medical and sanitary institutions, their number dropped to 10,397 in 2015. At the same time, there were 24,458 medical employees in 2003 and 21,527 in 2015.
