Moldovan diplomacy head attends informal meeting of Eastern Partnership's foreign ministers

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur participated in the seventh informal ministerial meeting of the Eastern Partnership (EaP), which brought together the foreign ministers of the EU and EaP member states. EU was represented at the event by Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The participants in the meeting continued discussions, started at the ministerial meeting from 23 May, on strengthening the cooperation between partners, including on the dimension of security and ways of optimizing the work of the partnership’s multilateral platforms.
In this context, Minister Galbur unveiled Moldova’s vision on possibilities to strengthen the Partnership, by implementing projects and initiatives with impact on citizens, such as backing entrepreneurship in partner states, cutting taxes in roaming or projects on interconnection of infrastructure between EU and partner states.
As for the dimension of the security, the Moldovan minister welcomed the new EU Global Strategy, which approaches security in the eastern neighbourhood and EU’s role in settling frozen conflicts.
