Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, criticized the work of the institutions in charge of carrying out an action plan for settling problems in the pharmaceutical sector, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
“In early last March, we approved an action plan, which contain 41 actions, of which 23 were to be carried out till 1 July. At present, we have fulfilled only five actions. I find out a very irresponsible approach. We cannot make action plans only for the sake of plans. In this respect, I demanded explanations from the Health Ministry and the Medicines Agency; yet, the information received is general and I do not accept it,” Pavel Filip said.
Thus, the PM instructed to apply disciplinary sanctions in form a warning to Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan and Director General of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency Vladislav Zara.
“In the long run, I will not stop giving warnings; we should recognize whether we have the needed abilities to carry out the plans approved, and if not, let the other do this,” the prime minister noted.
The action plan for settling problems in the pharmaceutical sector was approved in March 2016, following meetings convened at an initiative by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, with participation of decision-takers of the public sector, representatives of Moldovan and foreign producers, as well as of drug stores, in order to identify problems in the field and formulate solutions.
