Testing laboratories from three Moldovan institutions to be endowed with modern equipment

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from financial support worth 0.8 million euros for endowing the testing laboratories of the National Metrology Institute, Centre of Applied Metrology and Certification and Technical Centre for Industrial Security and Certification.
According to the Economics Ministry’s press service, the financial assistance will be provided through the technical assistance project for the enforcement of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) in Moldova, which has the task to provide support to implement the EU norms nationally. “The labs’ endowment with modern equipment is necessary to ensure the implementation of the provisions of normative acts, which transpose the European law and requirements of the European standards adopted as national standards,” a representative of the Economics Ministry, Lidia Jitari, has said.
To this end, the laboratories of the National Metrology Institute are to be endowed with needed equipments to ensure the traceability of measurements, that will allow recognizing the results of the measurements carried out in Moldova.
The equipment of the laboratories of the state enterprises Centre of Applied Metrology and Technical Centre for Industrial Security and Certification will ensure implementation of the European requirements and norms, including the testing of solid biofuels, petrol, diesel, constructions materials and individual protection equipments.
The purchasing of modern equipments for the labs of the beneficiary institutions will ensure the achievement of the goal of implementation in the national legislation of at least nine European directives and at least 33 European standards adopted as national standards.
