Moldovan foreign ministry provides updated information on situation in Turkey

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Bulgarian-Turkish border checkpoints Kapitan Andreevo, Malko Tarnovo and Lesovo are completely closed on the side of Turkey, following actions which took place in Turkey last night. Similarly, the air flights from Chisinau to Istanbul temporarily remain suspended, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) information and media communication service has reported.

MAEIE reiterates its urge to Moldovan citizens from Turkey to remain vigilant, not to leave their dwellings, avoid public places, monitor the situation through the available media outlets, undertake all needed measures to enhance personal security.

Moldova’s Embassy in Ankara and the Moldovan General Consulate from Istanbul permanently keep in touch with the Turkish authorities, administrations of the airports of Istanbul, Antalya and Ankara, as well as with the persons who contacted with the diplomatic missions, in order to clear up the situation, and will provide proper support.
