Five Moldovan companies willing to extend exports with support of PAC II project

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - Five Moldovan companies are willing to extend their exports to the United States, Germany and Romania with the support of the World Bank-financed Competitiveness Enhancement Project II (CEP II). To this end, the Project Implementation Unit approved another five files on financing consultancy services for widening exports.   

Presently, some of these five companies, which supply products on the Moldovan market, export to Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France. Thus, the only producer of polyurethane from Moldova, Bilargo-Prim, makes exports to Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France. Polyurethane is used to produce furniture and semi-manufactured goods. Another beneficiary of the project, Milabrega Ltd, is set to conquer the market of the European Union and the USA with natural furs of lamb, coypus, hares, karakul and sheep.       

The resources offered in the project will be used to research target markets, implement a soft of automation of enterprise’s management, services of design and producing package, as well as developing the label according to the EU norms, identifying foreign partners, preparing process of wholesale export, with the processing of the set of customs documents.    

With an overall budget of 45 million dollars, the Competitiveness Enhancement Project II will be implemented in 2015-2019. The project’s goal is to improve the business environment by supporting the government in enforcing the strategies aimed at creating a friendly business environment, reducing constraints and costs for managing the business. At the same time, the project will help develop the small and medium enterprises sector by facilitating access to medium- and long-term financing, strengthening institutional capacities of the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development and Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Organisation, a consultant at CEP II implementation unit, Rima Placinta, said.      

Non-refundable financing is to be provided through CEP II to cover 50 per cent of the services’ cost of all project’s budget, but no more than 200,000 lei per one beneficiary.
