Photo exhibition dedicated to Portugal inaugurated at Moldovan history museum

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of photos dedicated to Portugal by publicist, diplomat, former Moldovan ambassador to this country, Valeriu Turea, was inaugurated at the National History Museum today. Presently, Turea is head of the Diaspora Relations Bureau.  

The exhibition comprises 40 photos made by the author and is set to be a praise brought to Portugal, with which Moldova is not only linked by the same linguistic and civilization roots, but also through a large number of Moldovans who temporarily or permanently reside in this country.    

Attending the event were representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau, Secretary General of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry Anatol Vangheli, present Ambassador of Moldova to Portugal Dumitru Socolan, fine artists, professors, writers, journalists.   

The director of the National History Museum, Eugen Sava, said, inter alia, that the exhibition was a special one, as it tries to bring the beauty and specific feature of Portugal.  

According to Secretary General of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry Anatol Vangheli, while in Portugal, Valeriu Turea distinguished himself through a pronounced spirit of initiative. “Through this exhibition, he contributed to the deepening of the cultural relations between our countries. This event is of interest and a success,” Anatol Vangheli noted.   

For his part, Valeriu Turea said that Portugal is “a chapter of liking for Moldova, for which we have all reasons to be proud, and this exhibition is a response gesture for this liking.”  

Valeriu Turea was Moldovan Ambassador to Portugal in 2011-2015.   

The exhibition will be opened till 25 July.
