Moldovan deputy foreign minister meets Latvian European MP

Chisinau, July 20 /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii, paying a visit to Riga for a round of political consultations, held today a meeting with the Member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) in the European Parliament Iveta Grigule, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media communication service has reported.
The interlocutors made an extensive exchange of views on the Republic of Moldova-EU cooperation, including on the parliamentary dimension. Deputy Minister Darii reiterated that the dialogue with the European Parliament in the process of reforms and implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union is of high priority for the Moldovan authorities.
Also, the two officials discussed the political and security situation in the Eastern Partnership countries, in particular, as regards the protracted conflicts in these states. The Moldovan official reiterated, in this context, the importance of supporting reform efforts and recognition of European aspirations of Eastern Neighbourhood partner countries, particularly of the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, and the need for conflict settlement based on sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries concerned.
