Moldovan deputy foreign minister meets Latvian parliament official

Chisinau, July 22 /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii, paying a visit to Riga for a round of political consultations, has held today a meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Saeima (Parliament) of the Republic of Latvia Ojārs Ēriks Kalniņš, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

The officials discussed issues concerning the possibilities for boosting the bilateral Moldovan-Latvian dialogue at various levels, the reforms agenda of the Moldovan government in the context of implementing the Association Agreement EU – Republic of Moldova and matters regarding the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. Also, reference was made to international politics and security situation in the region.

The interlocutors appreciated the good cooperation between the legislatures of both countries, being mentioned the visits in recent years of the parliamentary delegations and the existing cooperation between parliamentary groups of friendship.
