Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) today informed about a yellow code of heat all over Moldova during 24-29 July.
SHS data shows that the maximum air temperature at noon will rise up to 33 Celsius degrees and higher.
In these conditions, weather forecasters issued a warning of exceptional danger of fire in forest strips and agricultural crops.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service, Diana Turcanu, has said that rescuers warn residents to protect themselves from sun in peak hours.
“If the temperatures continue to rise on the days to come too, then the Interior Ministry is to decide whether rescuers will place tents for providing the first aid,” Diana Turcanu noted.
For the hot weather period, physicians recommend avoiding long sun exposure in the intervals between 11:00 and 18:00, bearing sun hats, light clothes of light colours, made of natural materials, consumption of about 1.5-2 litres of water per day, avoiding excess of coffee and reducing the intensity and pace of daily activities.
