German company to create 1,500 jobs in Moldovan town

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today discussed measures promoted by the cabinet to back the business environment with representatives of the German company Coroplast, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The company is set to create about 1,500 jobs in the years to come. The investments planned are to amount to about ten million euros.
The prime minister referred to next steps to further improve the business environment and facilitate foreign investments in Moldova. “We need a developed economy to make public and social investments. We are aware that we must attract investments for a developed country, and to do this, we should be attractive,” Pavel Filip said. The German investors appreciated the authorities’ openness for potential investors.
The company’s representatives said that, after analyzing markets and the normative framework of the entrepreneurial work in the Eastern Europe states, the company had found Moldova attractive for investments.
The dialogue was focused also on the work of the Economic Council, which represents a good platform of communication and cooperation between the authorities and the business environment. In the context, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stressed that this structures represented a space for the business community, in which the latter makes its problems heard and comes up with the needed proposals to remove the present obstacles.
In the first phase, the German investors will deal with carrying out the investment project in Causeni. A production department with a total area of about 8,500 square metres is scheduled to be constructed for producing wiring and injection of plastic material. Coroplast’s goal is to supply goods to producers of wiring of Moldova and from abroad. The automotive sector from Moldova is the most dynamic industrial sector with over 7,000 employees.
