Moldovan diaspora relations bureau has new chief

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ – Secretary General of the Government Tudor Copaci presented Olga Coptu, as new chief of the Bureau for Relations with Diaspora (BRD), the bureau said.
Head of the State Chancellery praised the work done so far by the BRD team and gave assurances that he would remain as open to cooperation and dialogue. "BRD team has managed to do great things within fewer people. We want to work at the same pace and with the same impact to ensure the continuity of the activities," outlined Tudor Copaci.
At his part, former head of BRD Valeriu Turea, thanked the State Chancellery for the constant support of the ongoing activities of the Bureau, wished "welcome!" to Olga Coptu, noting that: "You have a very good reputation in Diaspora, knowing the life of diaspora from interior. You are taking over the management of one of the best teams among public authorities and in this context, I have every confidence that the transfer of functions will produce in an elegant mode".
"I come to hold this position with an enormous responsibility, but I also feel honored by this mandate, because I want to continue with the Bureau team all actions and projects which have been started. We will engage more the diaspora members into activities designed for them and will promote all initiatives and developments on the size of the Diaspora, Migration and Development," said Olga Coptu.
The new head of BRD is an exponent of the Moldovan diaspora in Italy, returned home in 2014. She graduated from the Facultaty of History, the State University of Moldova, and after that the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations at the University "La Sapienza di Roma" in Italy. In 2009, Coptu Olga founded the newspaper of the Moldovan migrants – "Gazeta Bessarabia", distributed in several countries including Italy, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium and Greece. Previously, she had worked in the Bureau of Interethnic Relations and the Ministry of Culture.
