Moldovan MP appointed president of Court of Accounts

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today appointed an MP of the Liberal Party (PL), Veaceslav Untila, to the office of president the Court of Accounts (CCRM), after, also today, the current CCRM president, Serafim Urechean, was dismissed from post, as his mandate had expired back in last April.
Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu put forward the candidacy of Untila, after consultations with the parliamentary factions.
Veaceslav Untila was born in the Codreanca village, central Straseni district, on 15 June 1956. He graduated from the Mechanics Faculty at Chisinau-based Technical University and the Law Faculty of the Moldovan State University. Subsequently, Untila trained for doctor’s degree at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. On 27 October 2002, he was elected leader of the Liberal Party. Starting from 2005 till 2010, Veaceslav Untila was member of the parliament. In 2011, Untila became deputy leader of the Liberal Party. Veaceslav Untila was awarded „Vulturul de Aur” (Golden Eagle), „Crucea pentru Merit”(Gradul II) (Merit Cross, second degree), the silver medal of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences, as well as the Order of Honour.
The president of the Court of Accounts was appointed for a five-year mandate.
The present decision enters into force on the date of adoption.
