Moldovan parliament appoints five new members of top court

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ – The parliament on 29 July appointed five new members of the Court of Accounts (CCRM). The draft decision was backed by votes of 70 MPs. 

The candidates were put up by the new head of the institution ,Veaceslav Untila, appointed by parliament also on 29 July, following consultations with parliamentary fractions.

The new members of the Court are: Tamara Andrusca, Marina Covali, Petru Rotaru, Ala Popescu and Tatiana Cunetchi. Another member of the institution is to be appointed to office in the beginning of the autumn session, at a proposal by the president of the Court of Accounts, after consulting parliamentary fractions.

The new members of the institution were appointed for a five-year term.

So far, Serafim Urechean has held the position of CCRM president .Urechean was dismissed from office at the 29 July parliament meeting, on grounds that his term had expired back in last April.

At the same parliament meeting, Roman Botan was appointed head of the parliamentary commission for national security, defense and public order, - a position earlier held by Veaceslav Untila.
