Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliamentary majority has signed a National Partnership for European Integration with the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM). Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made statements to this effect at a parliament meeting on 29 July.
“We inform that the Agreement on National Partnership for European Integration was signed between the ruling coalition and PPEM. At the same time, the parliament’s Standing Bureau took decision on the Parliamentary Council for European Integration to be led by Iurie Leanca; due to his experience, I am sure that we will achieve very good results,” Andrian Candu noted.
According to the PPEM leader Iurie Leanca, this political agreement regards Moldova’s modernization and its integration into EU. “We need to reset the dialogue with the European Union, it is necessary to consolidate these efforts. In the document, we put emphasis on justice reform and fighting corruption. At the same time, we are interested in casting lighting on the bank fraud as soon as possible. In my capacity of president of the Parliamentary Council, having chance to institutionally discuss with EU representatives on this platform, I will ask for carrying out expert examination, which will help us investigate the case,” Iurie Leanca said.
“We are also set to invite a mission of EU experts, who will assess the march of reforms in the justice sector. Another goal is organizing an external audit on the use of financial assistance funds for Moldova. I have the obsession to manage together to create the needed pre-requisites for submitting the application on EU accession till the end of this parliament’s mandate, i.e. till 2018,” Leanca said.
Last week, the Governance Coalition Council ruled to launch an invitation to dialogue to all pro-European forces of the parliament, to identify possibilities of constructive and substantive cooperation, in order to modernize Moldova. The Liberal Democratic Party refused to participate in the dialogue.
