Chisinau, 1 August /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 74 actions of the Poadmap on priority actions for the enforcement of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement have been fully carried out and another eight are under implementation, Prime Minister Pavel Filip told a today's news conference.
"The roadmap is not a programmatic document, but one within which we assumed quite clear commitments towards the development partners," the prime minister added. Among the actions carried out, Pavel Filip also enumerated the reform of justice, prosecution, reforms aimed at improving the business environment, ensuring media freedom.
Through these reforms, Moldova has regained the confidence of foreign partners, primarily the European Union and the United States. The country has reached an agreement with IMF, which will lead to the unlocking of the external financing and stimulating foreign investments in Moldova. Yet, the most important thing is that we managed to regain the trust of citizens, who had lost confidence in the political establishment and state institutions. "We have managed to ensure stability and regain public confidence not by words and promises, but through concrete actions," said the prime minister.
"Had it not been the support of the parliamentary majority, we would not have been able to achieve this," said Pavel Filip.
"A good beginning is half done work, so we aim to continue with the same pace. Certainly, by what we have done, we brought stability and recovery of external partners and citizens," said Parliament Speaker Adrian Candu. In the autumn-winter session of Parliament, the laws on the banking and financial system, as well as the audiovisual law are to be passed.
The parliament speaker noted that, among the actions which are under implementation, there were the evaluation of the National Bank of Moldova and National Energy Regulatory Agency.
