Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- A government decision on the way the means of the agricultural producers' subsidisation fund for 2016 are distributed will be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) on 5 August.
Under the document, the government supported the proposal by the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA) on distributing the money of the agricultural producers' subsidisation fund for 2016 amounting to 900 million lei, of which 387.6 million lei of the ENPARD programme – Support to the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development.
The money will be earmarked for three priority sectors; firstly, for enhancing competitiveness in the agri-food sector by reorganization and modernization, as well as ensuring sustainable management of natural resources. The third priority is to increase investments in physical infrastructure and the one of services in the rural area. An important component of the programme represents investments in agricultural exploitations for restructuring and adjusting to the EU standards.
Also, entrepreneurs promoting and developing the ecological agriculture, as well as those providing consultancy and training for farmers will be supported, and young farmers will additionally benefit from 15 per cent of the fixed value of calculated subsidy.
Debts accumulated in 2014-2015 will be paid from the subsidisation fund. According to MAIA, presently the debts to farmers are estimated at about 260 million lei, of which 44 million lei represent debts accumulated in 2014.
The subsidisation fund will be managed by the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture, subordinated to the Agriculture Ministry.
