Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Embassy of Slovakia in Chisinau today nominated eight scholars who will study in Slovakia.

It is about seven people admitted to education for licenciate degree and one person who is to study for doctor’s degree. The selected students will study in specialties of dentistry, general medicine, production technology, mechanics, banks and finances, international relations and architecture.

At the event, Slovakian Ambassador to Moldova Robert Kirnag said that the young Moldovans would benefit from the same privileges and rights as the Slovakian students.

“Universities from Slovakia propose offers of education which are demanded on the international labour market. This is an opportunity for Moldovan citizens to apply for these programmes, which will help them advance professionally. Such scholarships are offered only to several states, and young Moldovans should be as responsive as possible to any opportunity coming from outside,” Kirnag noted.

The students were selected by a joint commission made up of representatives of the Embassy and the Moldovan Education Ministry, based on the package of documents submitted online. The young people will monthly benefit from a scholarship worth 300 euros – money used to pay accommodation and other costs for living. In the first academic year, they will study the Slovakian language and the next years will be dedicated to the field chosen.

Slovakia has been providing education scholarships to young Moldovans the third year in a row.
