Romania continues to be main sales market for Moldovan goods

Chisinau, 6 August /MOLDPRES/- Romania continues to be the main sales market for the goods from Moldova, despite decrease by 3 per cent in Moldovan product supplies in the first half of 2016, according to data by the National Statistics Bureau.
Moldovan exports to Romania amounted to 215 million dollars, more than doubled value against the deliveries carried out on the second largest market for Moldovan goods, Russia, and exceeded by 27 million dollars overall exports to the CIS states.
In the first six months of 2016, Romania reconfirmed its leading position in the ranking of trade partners of Moldova, the trade exchanges between the two countries increasing to 456.2 million dollars. Russia ranks second by 349 million dollars.
The trade exchanges with Romania increased over the past three years, in value and weight, in the context of dramatically reducing trade with Russia.
Mineral products, machinery and technical equipment are the largest share in the goods exported from Romania to Moldova. The main categories of goods delivered from Moldova are machinery and technical equipment, base metals and metal items, as well as food products.
