Moldovan weather forecasters extend yellow code of heat till 11 August

Chisinau, 9 August /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) today extended the yellow code of heat, hydrological drought and exceptional danger of fire in the country.
On 10-11 August, the maximum air temperature at noon will rise up to 33 Celsius degrees and higher.
Also, alert of high danger of fire of forest strips and agricultural crops is valid until 12 August, and yellow code of hydrological drought was extended till 16 August.
Under these circumstances, physicians recommend avoiding long sun exposure in the intervals between 11:00 and 18:00, bearing sun hats, light clothes of light colours, made of natural materials, consumption of about 1.5-2 liters of water per day, avoiding excess of coffee and reducing the intensity and pace of daily activities.
At the same time, firemen urge people to avoid using fire nearby fields with cereals, forest areas, as well as setting fire to dry vegetation and domestic waste.
SHS data shows that this is the 12th yellow code of hot weather issued in this summer period, the last but one being on 5 August.
