Chisinau, 9 August /MOLDPRES/ – On 30 October, there will be held local mayor elections in four localities in Moldova. The Central Election Commission’s (CEC) members adopted today the decision with the reference to it.
Following the CEC’s press service statement, these include: Iserlia commune, Basarabeasca district, Galaseni commune, Riscani district, Galesti commune, Straseni district and Bucuria village, Cahul district.
"CEC decided to establish the new local elections concurrently with the presidential one, in order to optimize costs on organization and conduct of these elections," reads the institution press release.
Mayors’ mandates of Iserlia and Galaseni communes ended prematurely, due to their deaths, and in Galesti locality because of the health reasons. As it stands for Bucuria village, the mayor resigned.
