Valentin Dolganiuc, voter of Declaration of Independence, MP 1990-1998
MOLDPRES: After the proclamation of Independence, Moldova could follow three ways of development: independent, unionist or closely dependent on the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (most recently, the Eurasian Union). Should we start from the very beginning, what path would you choose?
Valentin Dolganiuc: The one we chose when we voted the Declaration of Independence, stipulating independence from the Soviet Union, Moscow. The great drama we live today is that we stopped our path, returning to “historical and ethnic area”, as it is set in the declaration.
25 years of independence perfectly prove this desideratum, which is not accepted only by enemies of our nation.
MOLDPRES: What future do you see for Moldova?
Dolganiuc: If we analyze the current situation in Moldova, only two scenarios are seen:
The first one:
The total mobilisation of the people to a fight with all mafia gangs, who captured the state institutions in order to regain sovereignty seen in the Constitution. We proved we are able for an exemplary mobilisation on 27 August 1991.
The second one:
We have to recognize that the experiment “Moldova –Independent State” failed. We come back to our Romanian roots and build together a united Europe for democracy, where the human rights and fundamental freedoms are sacred.
There is no another path!
