Electricity consumption lower by 3.3 per cent in semester one

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/ – The final electricity consumption in the national economy constitutes in the first six months of this year, 1793,8 million kWh, i.e. 3,3 per cent less than in the corresponding period of 2015, according to data of the National Energy Regulation Agency (ANRE).
The ANRE data also shows that the volume of electricity delivered to final consumers dropped to the level of 2014. While reduced consumption, energy costs provided increased overall by 700 million lei, while the rate increased from an average of 156,6 bani for a kWh in the first half of 2015, up to 202,3 bani in January–June, the current year.
The population turns out to be one of the largest electricity consumers, with an amount of 46 per cent of the total, while purchases from outside increased to 1360 million kWh. The delivered energy payment level for semester I totaled 99,9 per cent.
