War veterans support Moldovan premier's call on European vector

Chisinau, 19 August /MOLDPRES/ – A group of war veterans, participants of the military actions in Afghanistan and those for defending the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova, confirmed their support for the call launched by Prime Minister Pavel Filip on strengthening the entire society in support of the integration of Moldova in the European Union, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

In a letter to Prime Minister, it is stated stated inter alia that the veterans of war constitute a constructive part of society and support the Government's efforts to strengthen the state and defence of national values. However, they are confident that the work program of the Cabinet of Ministers, which is based on the Association Agreement EU – Moldova, will bring our state development and create dignified living conditions for citizens.

"We support your call to strengthen the society to the idea of Moldova's integration into the European Union. We, who have passed the war, know the price of peace, and we believe that only in peace, consolidation and stability we can, together, build a European future. We have different opinions, but we have a country that we fought for and we want it to be a prosperous among the European civilizations", reads the message signed by veterans.

We have to recall that on 4 August the current year, Prime Minister Pavel Filip launched a public appeal urging the whole society, political forces, but also individual citizens, to support and actively engage in the construction of the European Moldova.

The letter of support is signed by the Union of Veterans "Saint George the Victorious", Federation of Veterans and Reservists of Security Forces of Moldova, Association: Allegiance to Motherland and Afghanistan Veterans Union.
