New fuel prices 6 per cent increase in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ – Petrol will be 5,1 per cent and diesel 7,3 per cent more expensive since Wednesday, due to increase of prices at regional stock exchanges. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today set the ceiling selling price for Premium-95 petrol at 15.99 lei per litre for 24 August – 6 September, against 15.21 lei, and diesel increased to 13,82 lei per litre, against 12,88 lei on the previous period.
It is the first time in the recent two months when the fuel prices raise, following three consecutive reductions.
ANRE established the concerned prices in line with the provisions of a new methodology of forming and applying the prices for oil products in force, starting from 13 May 2016. The prices posted today on ANRE’s webpage will be valid for 14 calendar days.
Under the Methodology, ANRE every 14 days on Tuesdays sets the ceiling retail selling prices for petrol, diesel and liquefied gas and publishes them on its webpage till 13:00. On the same day, each operator on the oil products market will determine, proceeding from the ceiling prices established by ANRE, the retail selling prices for the oil products, will publish them on its webpage and will post them on informative panels placed at fuel supply stations. The prices set by operators will enter into force and will be applied for all consumers, starting from Wednesday at 00:01 night.
After the entrance into force of the amendments and completions to the law on oil products market, made on 17 June, market operators will establish the wholesale and retail selling prices for liquefied gas according to another mechanism, set by the Methodology of formation and applying the prices for oil products.
