Government holds a series of events dedicated to 25th anniversary of Moldova's independence

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ – With the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova, there will be organized a series of cultural events throughout the country. The celebration will debut with the National Award Gala 2016, that will take place on 26 August at the Palace of the Republic, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
On 27 August, there will take place laying flowers at the monument Maica Indurerata (Mother of Sorrows) and the monument of the ruler Stefan cel Mare si Sfint (Stephen the Great and Saint) in Chisinau.
The official program will continue in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) with an opening performance dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova. It will include a military parade, music and dance show Hora Neamului (Hora of the Nation), folk show Pentru tine – tara … (For you – country ...), where will be organized folk garments and brass bands parades.
The viewers will also have the opportunity to listen to the most popular national folklore songs and to admire the folk dances in interpreting of ensemble "Joc" (Dance) in the folk kaleidoscope Trandafir de la Moldova (Rose from Moldova). At the same time, it will be presented a cultural events retrospective dedicated to the national holiday – The Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, in the years 1991-2015, and an outdoor collage documentary – Moldova Suverana (Sovereign Moldova).
On 27 August evening in GNAS, will be presented the musical-poetic performance – Legarea timpurilor (Tying the times), which will culminate in the fireworks launch. The celebration program will conclude with Zdob si Zdub band concert.
This year, Moldova marks 25 years of Independence, adopted by the Parliament on 27 August 1991.
