Turkish premier to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/- On an official visit to Ankara, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today met Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.
Galbur highly appreciated the Turkish government’s support provided to Moldova in general and to Gagauzia in particular, in such sectors as: economy, education, agriculture, infrastructure, internal affairs, tourism, carried out via the projects implemented in Moldova by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
Yildirim opted for developing the Moldovan-Turkish cooperation relations in the political, economic and humanitarian fields. The officials pointed out the mutual interest of both countries in increasing Turkish investments in the Moldovan economy, as well as in increasing the trade exchanged between Moldova and Turkey. In this context, the sides highlighted the need to convene the 8th meeting of the Moldovan-Turkish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
The sides underlined the importance of strengthening the bilateral legal framework for deepening the relations in many fields. In this context, they approached the forthcoming entry into force of the free trade agreement, as well as the need to sign the agreement on mutual protection of investments as soon as possible.
Yildirim informed about accepting the invitation launched by Prime Minister Pavel Filip to visit Moldova in the nearest future. He expressed his intention to visit Gagauzia.
