23:01 | 24.08.2016 Category: Economic

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip asked the Ministry of Economy and National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) drafting amendments to legislation so as to restore the mechanism of price cap retail sale of liquefied modeled petroleum products.

The Prime Minister said at the beginning of today's meeting of the Government that he had received a letter from ANRE by the Cabinet was warned that capping the exclusion of the retail price of gas could lead to unjustified price increases. There was also a legislative initiative Cancellation capping LPG prices. This matter will be discussed with MPs.

The regulator in Energy announced on 12 July 2016 that after the entry into force of amendments to the Law on the oil market, operated in June this year, the regulator will only fix the ceiling price of retail gasoline and diesel, but not those for the marketing of liquefied gas.

Under amendments to the law, prices of wholesale and retail of liquefied gas are determined by market operators.

After changing the pricing mechanism of auto liquefied gas trading, it got more expensive at gas stations by an average of 27 per cent. So, that if by the end of May ANRE set a price ceiling for liquefied gas of 7.20 lei per litre, then today the prices have reached 8.96-9.36 lei per litre.
