Moldovan government declares 29-30 August as days off

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet today backed a proposal on declaring the days of 29 and 30 August 2016 as days off in Moldova, according to a decision No 1005 of 24 August 2016. The days will be recovered on 24 September and respectively, 22 October 2016, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The approved amendments are in line with the provisions of the Labor Code, empowerng the government with the right to transfer the days off and working days to other days in order to offer employees the opportunity to best use weekends and non-working holidays.
The day of 27 August, Moldova's Independence Day, and 31 August, Romanian Language Day, are officially declared days off.
