Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ - At the beginning of the Executive meeting today, Prime Minister Pavel Filip talked about the fact that the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has warned the Government by letter about changing the mechanism of prices of liquefied petroleum gas, respectively, excluding ceiling price for this product, which could lead to unjustified price increases, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
"In 2015 it was established a new pricing mechanism for petroleum products and liquefied gas price had ceiling price just like the price of gasoline and diesel. I just want to be known that the cancellation of capping the price of liquefied petroleum gas this summer is the consequence of legislative initiatives, amendments submitted by a group of MPs. I'm sorry that this initiative passed and was approved in Parliament. On this issue we will have discussions with lawmakers to see how this happened," said Pavel Filip.
In this regard, the Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Economy to develop the necessary draft amendments, so that in the shortest time to restore the mechanism of price cap retail sale of LPG, modelled to the amendment mentioned.
