Chisinau discussions of Romanian financed projects on regional development in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ - Minister of Regional Development and Constructions, Basil Bitca, had a meeting today with his Romanian counterpart Vasile Dancu, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Administration in Romania. The meeting was held during the official visit to Moldova by the Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Ciolos.

The  press service of the MDRC said that during the meeting the two officials discussed projects financed by the Romanian Government on regional development in Moldova and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Vasile Bitca thanked the Romanian Government for the support offered and valuable contribution into regional development of the country. "I express my great appreciation for all common progress made under the intergovernmental agreement signed in 2010, and hope to develop and deepen the fruitful cooperation. We have to continue in the same manner, that we have already started," said the minister.

Vasile Bitca also said that the Ministry of Regional Development and Constructions will continue to be strongly committed to implementing the above mentioned agreement and in this respect, the Romanian Government continues to be a strategic partner in support of priority policies of the state.

At his part, Deputy Prime Minister Vasile Dincu reiterated the intention to continue the initiated projects in Moldova. "We forecast the possibility that preferential rural villages in Moldova, which have partnership agreements with localities in Romania implement joint projects for the direct benefit of citizens," the quoted source added.

Also, the Romanian official directed the invitation of experts from the Ministry of Regional Development and Constructions, as well as those ones of the Regional Development Agencies, for talks in an expanded format and develop joint plans of action.
