Moldovan deputy premier meets ambassador of Russian Federation

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration received today the Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Muhametsin who handed a congratulatory message from his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
During the meeting the interlocutors referred to the dynamics of political dialogue, and the need to recover further potential for cooperation between the two countries.
A special subject referred was the recent evolution in the Transnistrian conflict settlement and the situation in the region. In this context Minister Andrei Galbur expressed the Moldovan authorities concern on continuing jointly exercises of the Russian military forces carried out with the paramilitary armed structures of the Tiraspol regime.
Minister Andrei Galbur reiterated the imperative of respect for the provisions of the Agreement on principles of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, signed on 21 July 1992, especially in terms of the bond of the Russian Armed Forces to remain neutral, but also the need to resume dialogue on the withdrawal of Russian troops and ammunition from Moldova stored in warehouses on the left bank.
