New kindergarten restored with Romanian support reopened in southern Moldova

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip and his Romanian counterpart Dacian Ciolos participated in reopening of Luminita kindergarten in Selemet village, Cimislia district, on 25 August. It is restored with financial support of Romanian authorities. The event was occasioned by Ciolos’ official visit to Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Ciolos said he wanted to personally see the result of the assistance provided within a project carried out in Moldova and financially supported by the Romanian government. He said that the programme on restoration of kindergartens in Moldova was successful, over 750 kindergartens being modernized so far. Therefore, the Romanian government intends to continue this programme, so that to improve the work conditions in other over 80 kindergartens, as well as other assistance programmes.
The official also noted that Romania would continue programmes on scholarships for Moldovan young people.
For his part, Filip expressed gratitude to Moldovan people for every support provided within many development projects, as well as in the country’s European integration. “The government I am honored to lead has a country project, named European integration and rapprochement with the EU, which represents a desire to live in a county built on the basis of European values, it means that children and adults will live in good condition”, he said.
About 2 million lei was earmarked for the repair works of kindergarten. Due to this assistance, the roof was fully changed, windows were partially changed, building façade was completed and landscaping works in the yard completed. At the same time, the institution was equipped with new furniture.
The premiers of the two states had a meeting with representatives of local public administration, members of Local Authorities Congress in Moldova. The talks were focused on the opportunities to develop settlements, access to European funds, as well as need to boost cooperation between settlements in Moldova and Romania.
