Only way to modernise Moldova - European integration, PM says

MOLDPRES: After the proclamation of Independence, Moldova could follow three ways of development: independent, unionist or closely dependent on the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (most recently, the Eurasian Union). Should we start from the very beginning, what path would you choose?

Filip: I can definitely say I would choose that Moldova be an independent and sovereign state, with a developed democracy, based on European values.

MOLDPRES: What future do you see for Moldova?

Filip:The only way to upgrade Moldova is European integration. This is our country project, as the EU means freedom, safety, prosperity and law supremacy. All political forces and entire society should consolidate around this idea. I launched an appeal in this regard. If we follow our European path, we will have a prosperous economy and will ensure a decent living for citizens of our country.
