Moldovan premier attends National Awards 2016 gala ceremony

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip attended today the festive ceremony of the National Prize Edition 2016. In his speech, the Premier said that the event was organized in a symbolic moment, on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, being devoted to those who get involved and devote themselves to performance and added value to Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
"We celebrate today the creative power of our nation and eulogize its outstanding representatives, the winners of the national awards. We enjoy excellence, intelligence, talent and our national values. I feel proud that we have the same origins, happy that we can spend these symbolic moments together," said Pavel Filip.
The Head of Government noted that this competition is an act of public recognition and valorisation of the most significant scientific, technological, cultural creations and of the highest achievements in promoting innovative spirit.
The choice of works submitted to the contest, the Prime Minister added, was followed by originality, impact, novelty and other issues important to the economy, culture and national science, which increased the honor and prestige of Moldova in the world. "As a result, in this hall, there are people who did something good for their country and for the future. This is the reason that we celebrate. I am honored to extend my sincere congratulations to the National Awards 2016 winners, who dedicated work to Moldova and its citizens," the PM said.
At this event, conducted in preamble of the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova, Pavell Filip spoke about the people to whom we owe our country's freedom and independence. "For all those who had faith in the future of Moldova, for all those who believed and believe today and are involved in the progress of this country, for those who work every day, where they found the way and where life led them - I urge you to send a thought of gratitude. Tomorrow is not about hatred and division. Tomorrow is not about scandals or low interest. Tomorrow is about the country, about the national good and life of the Moldovan citizens - here, at home or wherever they may be. For tomorrow to be the way the citizens want it to be, we must commit ourselves with responsibility and courage today," said the PM.
Also, Pavel Filip reiterated his call for unity and solidarity of the European project of our country: "If we chose this way, then we have to go on it until the end. So, we have to do our duty towards those of yesterday and those of tomorrow, becoming us, the people of today, the people who run this country on its way on the road of the European Moldova".
At their turn, the winners thanked the Government and the members of the Assessment Committee for valuing the results achieved, pointing out that the National Award is a prestigious prize and recognition of efforts. At the same time, they mentioned that they would continue to work to advance their respective fields to achieve new successes and fame of the Republic of Moldova on the international arena.
The National Award is granted annually by the Government for the results achieved in various fields, including: research, technological and cultural developments.
