Moldova celebrates 25 years of Independence

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Republic of Moldova today celebrates 25 years of independence. At the inauguration program dedicated to the Independence Day, held in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN), participated Speaker Andrian Candu, along with the country's leadership, deputies, ministers, diplomats, people of culture and arts, other officials and residents of the capital, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Andrian Candu sent congratulations and good wishes to Moldovan citizens on Independence Day, wishing them prosperity and new achievements.
"Today I am so overwhelmed by emotions of joy as well as sadness, thinking to those who sacrificed their lives for us today to celebrate Independence Day. There are emotions of joy because despite Moldova is small, it has got great spirit in it, and we have nice, beautiful, true people who day by day contribute to making everything that is Moldova. On the day when we celebrate quarter of century, I wish "Happy Birthday" to all citizens wishing and God help us in everything we do to have a strong state with integrity and welfare for citizens," said Andrian Candu.
Also, the Speaker attended the military parade with the participation of 12 countries and folk parade, at its fourth edition.
The program of events dedicated to Independence Day debuted traditionally, in the morning, by laying flowers at monuments "Stefan cel Mare" ruler and "Maica Indurerata) (Grieving Mother) at memorial Compound "Eternitate" (Eternity).
