Platform DA leader candidates for president position in Moldova

Chisinau, 31 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Leader of Platforma Demnitate și Adevar (PPDA) (the Platform Party Dignity and Truth), Andrei Nastase, was appointed today as the party's candidate for the presidential elections of 30 October.
The decision was taken today by the National Political Council (CPN) of PPDA. "Presidential poll is an important element in launching the process of extricating the country from captivity. The next stage, the decisive is triggering early parliamentary elections ", said the press service of PPDA, referring to the CPN’s decision.
"Under these circumstances, CPN decided designation of Platform DA leader, Andrei Nastase, as candidate for presidential elections. However, CPN adopted a statement calling civil society representatives to convene a new assembly of the Civic Forum, to identify and propose solutions to strengthen the healthy political forces’ participation by one presidential candidate and a common list in parliamentary elections," the same source informed.
The meeting formed the group initiative for supporting candidate Andrei Nastase in the presidential elections. The Platform DA deputy leader, Alexandru Slusari heads it.
On 31 August, PPDA will submit to the Central Election Commission application for registration of the initiative group to collect signatures in support of candidate Andrei Nastase for the position of the President of Moldova.
Today started during the campaign for direct presidential elections. Throughout the day will present their candidacies for the position of president and the Democratic Party, Liberal Party of Moldova European People's Party and Solidarity Action and Our Party.
Today, it has commenced direct presidential election period. During the day, there will also present their candidacies for the president position the PD (Democratic Party), PL (Liberal Party), Partidul Popular European din Moldova (European People's Party), Partidul Actiune si Solidaritate (Action and Solidarity Party) and Partidul Nostru (Our Party).
In the morning, PSRM Republican Council decided to file candidacy of Chairman party Igor Dodon, as candidate for president.
