Moldova celebrates national holiday "Limba noastra cea Romana"

Chisinau, 31 August /MOLDPRES/ – The leadership of the Republic of Moldova laid in the morning flowers to the monument of Stefan cel Mare the ruler in the capital on the occasion of national holiday "Limba noastra cea Romana" (Our Romanian Language).
Then, President Nicolae Timofti, Parliament Speaker Adrian Candu and Prime Minister Pavel Filip laid flowers at the busts of writers on the Alley of Classics of Romanian Literature Public Garden "Stefan cel Mare".
In the morning, President Nicolae Timofti held public lecture "The Romanian language, politics and the rule of law" in the festive meeting dedicated to the Romanian Language Holiday, held at the Academy of Sciences.
In his speech, the head of state said that Moldova is the only country that has a national language celebration. "It came as a natural reaction to the injustices which were made over the centuries", said Nicolae Timofti.
After laying flowers, in Public Garden "Stefan cel Mare" took place poetry recitals, music, exhibition of pottery, handicrafts etc. In front of the participants evolved Choirs, conducted by Oleg Constantinov, folk dance ensemble "Hora-Horita", folk ensemble "Vatra de dor" of school of fine arts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania etc.
The Chairman of the Writers' Union of Moldova, Arcadie Suceveanu pointed out that, unfortunately, the Romanian language not yet came to be spoken in all administrative structures of society. "The Romanian language is the backbone of the Romanian nation," stated Arcadie Suceveanu.
In the evening, in GNAS (PMAN) will take place a concert dedicated to the Day of the Romanian Language. Between Fratii Advahov Orchestra, Orchestra led by Dumitru Carciumaru and Alex Calancea Band will be a "confrontation" of music replicas from famous musicians' masterpieces of Antonio Vivaldi, Carl Orff, Niccolo Paganini, to the Romanian "Ciocirlia" and wonderful creations our composers Mihai Dolgan, Valentin Dinga, Anatol Dumitras, brothers Teodorovici etc. On the stage, there will be masters Eugen Doga, Stefan Petrache, Anatol Chiriac, Constantin Rusnac, Iurie Sadovnik, Lidia Botezatu and Radu Dolgan.
Soloists – Mariana Bulicanu, Ana Cernicova, Ionel Alexandru Manciu, Cristina Pintilie, Natalia Barbu, Catalin Josan, Adrian Ursu, Ricu Voda, Catharsis, Aura, Georgeta Voinovan, Andrei Ionita, Valeria Pasa, Stefan Neguta, Stela Botan, Serj Kuzenkov, Viorel Burlacu, Gloria Gorceag, Costi Bulrlacu and Corina Tepes, Diana Rotaru, Felicia Dunaf, Doinita Gherman, Diana Brescan, Victoria Lungu, Cezara, Zinaida Julea, Igor Rusu, Mihai Ciobanu, sisters Osoianu, members of ensemble "Plaiesii" etc.
