Finland to further back Moldova in carrying out reform programme

Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur met Foreign Minister of Finland Tino Soini on 3 September. The meeting was held in the context of an informal meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states and Eastern Partnership countries, held in Bratislava, Slovakia, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media relations service has reported.
The officials tackled the bilateral cooperation agenda, appreciating the positive dynamics of Moldovan-Finnish relations, including from the perspective of recent interministerial political consultations, held in Chisinau.
At the same time, Galbur thanked for the valuable assistance provided to Moldova via the Finnish Fund for Local Cooperation, promoting projects in priority sectors, thus supporting the country's efforts for modernisation and adjustment to European standards.
For his part, Soini reiterated his country's willingness to further back Moldova in carrying out the reform programme.
