Moldovan foreign minister meets European official

Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/- In the context of an informal meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states held in Bratislava, Slovakia, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur met European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johanes Hahn, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media relations service has reported.
The main topic was focused on evolution of reforms initiated by Moldovan authorities and their impact on the country's European agenda. The official reiterated the importance of implementing the Association Agreement, as well as the commitments related to the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund in order to ensure stabilising national economy.
Welcoming the efforts made by the Moldovan institutions in the first half of the year on resetting the reform agenda by carrying out the roadmap, Hahn reieterated the importance of ensuring continuity of the actions. He pointed out the interest in the further developments in efforts for combating corruption, media reform, as well as financial-banking sector.
For his part, Galbur assured that both the government and parliament were firmly committed to reforming, draft laws important for the set sectors, which were on the autumn agenda of government and parliament.
