Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Liberal Party's leader (PL), Mihai Ghimpu, today announced that he withdraws his signature on the agreement with the European People's Party of Moldova (PPEM).
According to the PL's Press Service, as a reason to withdraw the signature was the fact that "PPEM has not announced its withdrawal from the tacit alliance with PSRM, PN and PCRM in the Chisinau Municipal Council".
"It is reprehensible that Mr. Iurie Leanca went to Brussels, Bucharest and Sofia and spoke about European integration, and in Chisinau was allied with the pro-Russian parties, which are anti-national and anti-European," said the same source.
President PPEM Iurie Leanca has not answered the phone to comment on the decision taken by PL leader.
On 29 July, the parliamentary majority signed with PPEM a National Partnership for European Integration, political agreement with the objective of upgrading and integration of Moldova into EU.
