Moldovan premier meets Ambassador of Finland to Moldova

Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with Ambassador of Finland to Moldova Paivi Pohjanheimo. The sides' dialogue tackled the Moldovan-Finnish cooperation achievements and viewed possibilities for deepening bilateral relations, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Head of Government especially appreciated the Helsinki authorities' level of openness to intensify mutual political dialogue with Moldova and thanked for technical support from Finland through the Local Cooperation Fund. Also, Pavel Filip expressed interest in organizing meetings at the level of state leadership, and similarly to expand cooperation within international organizations.

At his part, Ambassador of Finland to Moldova encouraged the Moldovan Government to continue implementing priority reform agenda and advance towards European integration. At the same time, Paivi Pohjanheimo talked about Finland's eagerness to provide assistance and expertise for the Moldovan authorities in spheres, such as customs service and anti-corruption.

The officials had exchange of opinions on trade-economic relations between the states, increase of Finnish companies' investments into the economy of Moldova, and the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
