Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- For the first time of initiating taking over European standards, the National Standards Institute (INS), subordinated to the Economics Ministry, adopted 100 per cent of the European harmonized standards as Moldovan standards.

Signing the Association Agreement with the European Union, Moldova was committed to implement the European legislation and standards, which would facilitate the export of local products without restrictions on the European Single Market, a press release by INS reads.

The European harmonized standards facilitate the free movement of products and services, which contributes to opening new sales markets, removing technical barriers in commerce, as well as to respecting consumer demand.

In the context, the INS encourages the Moldovan economic agents to implement in their activity the European standards and to benefit from the advantages.
