Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - Petrol will be more expensive since Wednesday with 20 bani, up to 16,19 lei per litre for Premium Motor fuel 95, and diesel by 10bani, up to 13,92 lei per litre. It is the second time in the last thirty days when fuel prices are increasing.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) today set the ceiling trading price Premium fuel auto-95 for the period 7-20 September to the level of 16,19 lei per litre and diesel of 13,92 lei per litre.

New prices for petrol and diesel will come into effect at midnight, when operators are not allowed to sell retail fuel at higher prices than those established by ANRE.

ANRE established the concerned prices in line with the provisions of a new methodology of forming and applying the prices for oil products, in force starting from 13 May 2016. The prices posted today on ANRE’s webpage will be valid for 14 calendar days.

Under the Methodology, ANRE every 14 days on Tuesdays sets the ceiling retail selling prices for petrol, diesel and liquefied gas and publishes them on its webpage till 13:00. On the same day, each operator on the oil products market will determine, proceeding from the ceiling prices established by ANRE, the retail selling prices for the oil products, will publish them on its webpage and will post them on informative panels placed at fuel supply stations. The prices set by operators will enter into force and will be applied for all consumers, starting from Wednesday at 00:01 night.
