PL leader submits to CEC petitions containing the signatures collected in his support

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Head of the Liberal Party (PL) Mihai Ghimpu today presented to the Central Election Commission (CEC) petitions containing the signatures collected in his support for the presidential elections of 30 October this year.
According to PL leader, collecting signatures began on Friday night. "We have structures in territory and, surely, people's support. Totally, there were collected about 27 thousand signatures supporting the PL candidate in the presidential elections. Today we have not yet submitted all the lists, there further checks in territory," said Ghimpu.
CEC will verify within seven days from the receipt of the documents submitted by PL and will decide on registration effectiveness of candidate Mihai Ghimpu in presidential elections course.
Previously, the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) candidate for President, Marian Lupu, submitted to CEC lists for presidential elections on 30 October this year. The initiative groups have collected about 29 thousand signatures in support of PDM candidate for presidential elections.
