Japan encourages Government of Moldova to continue to improve business environment

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deepening the Moldovan-Japanese relationships and possibilities for boosting partnership within international organizations were discussed today during the meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip with Deputy Minister Parliamentary for Foreign Affairs of Japan Motomit Takisawa, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The Prime Minister welcomed the Japanese official visit to Moldova, stressing that the Japanese Embassy's opening in Chisinau is a good opportunity to boost diplomatic relations, but also for increasing bilateral trade. The head of the Executive thanked the Government of Japan for technical assistance and programs for Moldova. Currently, after the volume of assistance, Japan is the third position in the list of biggest donors of our country after the European Union and the United States.

"Moldova remains open both to deepen bilateral relations as well as to increase cooperation in international institutions, including the United Nations and in the format Organization for Democracy and Economic Development plus Japan. Our relations are based on common values, friendship and mutual respect, " emphasized Pavel Filip.

At his part, Deputy Minister Parliamentary for Foreign Affairs of Japan Motomit Takisawa expressed his belief that the diplomatic missions, recently opened, will help strengthen the Moldovan-Japanese relations. The official Japanese was impressed of the quality of Moldovan wines and vowed to become their promoter in his country.

Motomit Takisawa welcomed the ongoing dialogue that the Government has with the private sector, specifying that it contributes significantly to the national economy. "I think one of the most important aspects for investment is trust. Ongoing dialogue can enhance confidence and could have increased Japanese investments," the Japanese official said.

In this context, Motomit Takisawa appreciated the fact that Prime Minister Pavel Filip received representatives of Japanese companies Fujikura and Metal Products Inc and expressed confidence that these investments would be a success and help expand Japanese investment volume in our country.
