Artists from 10 countries participate in International Festival of Opera and Ballet "Maria Biesu" this year

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - At the XXIV edition of the International Festival of Opera and Ballet "Maria Biesu", which will take place in Chisinau on 9-18 September, are invited opera and ballet stars from 10 countries: Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia and Moldova.
The Minister of Culture Monica Babuc outlined today at a press conference that the current edition of the Festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture, the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet "Maria Biesu", The Musicians' Union of Moldova, under the patronage of Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
The Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet "Maria Biesu" Vladimir Dragos said that the current Festival differs from the previous by diversity of performances, the program including seven performances - four operas and three ballets and a concert featuring the great scenes masters from 10 countries.
According to him, this edition has invited renowned soloists such as Natalia Gavrilan, "La Scala" Opera, Italy; Ahmed Agadi, Mariinsky Theatre, Russia; Adrian Tampau, Zurich OpernHaus; Pavlo Tolstoy, Polish National Opera; Vladislav Gorai and Oleg Zlakoman, the Opera of Odessa, Ukraine; Dinu Tamazlicaru and Iana Salencko, StatsBallet Berlin, Germany; Tatyana Anisimova, Opera in Kiev, Ukraine; Iliy Silchukov, Bolshoy Theatre in Minsk, Belarus; Vlad Marculescu, Kotomi Hoshino and Ana Maria Donose from the National Opera in Iasi, Romania.
The XXIV edition of the International Festival of Opera and Ballet "Maria Biesu" will end on Sunday, 18 September with a gala concert of the music of composer Eugen Doga.
